| Introduction This book is about the basic problems of our life. Any human being has many personal problems. Any society is far from its own ideals. We see the limits of our science, art, religion, mysticism. Then the question: Why God does not interfere? The answer: He points the way but we do not see the omens. This book is about one of these omens. I shall try to translate this omen in our language. I shall show the many consequences of this omen for the mentioned above problems. Now: What is the omen? The answer: The omen has the form of two signs of time in basic equations of physics. In our world we have only one arrow of time and because of this the fact of two signs of time has the sense of something from other worlds. That is the cause of interest of creators of physics to this problem. We have here the works of Maxwell, Boltzman, Schrodinger, Wheeler, Feynman, Prigogine. In this book I shall make the next step and shall transform the sense of other worlds to the dynamics of other worlds. I take the simplest form of this dynamics and see the great number of unexpected consequences in different realms of life and culture. Then I can speak about omen. You can object: The notion of omen is outside science. My answer: This notion turns out to be a part of new dynamics. The main task is the translation of time-symmetric dynamics in our usual language. Many interesting discoveries you will find on this way. New physics with many new effects will be constructed. Some of those new effects will be proved by experiments. But in this new physics we shall find some new problems. They will be solved through some new ideals that will be added to ideal of time-symmetry. It will be ideals from other realms of culture and as result those realms will be derived together with physics and as a natural part of physics. Then the time-symmetry that is interesting in itself (for example, as a way of going out of time) became also a model of many other advances. All that will be described in the book but I start from a narrow, strictly physical context of the whole problem. .  |
